【杂志简介】
在1996年元月召开的国务院学位评定委员会上，经数学学科委员会无记名投票，《东北数学》被评为全国18种重要数学期刊之一。在这18种期刊中，《数学研究通讯》是惟一的由一所大学主办的期刊。《数学研究通讯》在国内数学界已占有了重要的位置，为我国的数学学科的建设和发展作出了一定的贡献。
【办刊宗旨】
本刊坚持普及与提高相结合，以提高为主的办刊方针。办刊宗旨是报道数学研究成果，传播数学研究技术，促进数学研究科技交流，推动数学研究科技进步。本刊主要刊登国内外数学方面的科研论文，努力将其办成能够展示纯数学科研领域的最新研究成果和动态，并指导其进一步的研究方向。现已被国务院学位评定委员会指定为18种重要数学期刊之一。

国家新闻出版总署收录 都被美国《数学评论》、德国《数学文摘》及俄罗斯《文摘杂志》评摘。
2003年年初检索统计结果表明，我国进入Zentralblatt MATH系统的150多种入选期刊中(含港、澳、台地区)，《数学研究通讯》(Northeast. Math. J.)名列第十。
