   本刊1992年经国家科委批准创办,由洛阳耐火材料研究院主办,是目前中国耐火材料行业唯一的一本英文杂志,现为季刊。创刊以来己出11卷(包括今年),受到海内外学者、企业家、商人的欢迎。目前与国外二十家杂志建立了交换关系,例如,美国的“陶瓷协会会刊与英国的“耐火材料与陶瓷”,德国的“陶瓷论坛”,比利时的“硅酸盐”,法国的“陶瓷工业”,日本的“耐火物“等。并且与几家著名的二次文献检索刊物也建立了密切联系。目前国内外订户及赠阅数、交换数达1000多本/年,国外订户主要分布在美国、英国、印度、日本、德国、法国、南非、阿根廷以及东南亚和阿拉伯等十几个国家。本杂志主要反映当前中国耐火材料发展现状。论文内容涉及到原料、工艺、生产及应用方面的新进展,以及设备更新。除研究报告和论文、综述与展望外,还报道了国家公布的一些统计数据,市场信息反迸出口情况等。同时我刊还可刊登广告和厂矿简介。

  当时创办该刊的目的主要是让世界了解中国耐火材料,试图在中国耐火材料与世界耐火材料同行之间架起一座信息桥梁。尤其中国已加入世界贸易组织(WTO),我们需要更多地参与国际市场竞争,那么通过《中国耐火材料》的介绍,无疑是一条重要的渠道。目前为止,由于《中国耐火材料》的介绍或通过《中国耐火材料》的报道,取得与国外商人联系并最终出口耐火材料产品或原料的企业十几家。众所周知,中国耐火材料通过20多年改革开放,无论在原材料的质量上还是在制成品的质量上都有了长足的进展,有的已接近或超过国外先进水平。由于过去政策封闭,耐火材料行业因与外界联系较少,出口渠道少,出口最也就少。随着我国改革开放政策的深入,与国际同行交流日趋增加,中国耐火材料原料及产品出口也逐年增加,但与中国耐火材料产量相比,远远不够.尤其在国内市场竞争日趋激烈的条件下,寻求出口不乏是重要出路之一。因此需要更多媒体的介入,以便广交国际朋友,扩大出口渠道。
